William Douglas Mitchell, Jr, age 69, Atlanta, died March 17, 2021.
There was nobody kinder, sweeter, or more gentle than Bill. He made and kept friends as if they were precious gems. His untimely death shook us all to the core.
He is survived by his wife, Beth; sister, Betsy James, East Point, FL; nephew, Leonard Simon Joeris, and several nieces, nephews grandnieces, and grandnephews.
He was the son of William Douglas Mitchell, Sr. and Elizabeth Anne Fielder Mitchell, of Madison, FL. Bill grew up in Madison after moving there as a child from Columbus, GA where his mother, a fine artist, helped begin an organization for artists.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, please send contributions to Chihuahua Rescue of Georgia or the Atlanta Humane Society. Bill loved his dogs and they loved him.
He was an avid space program follower, historian of America and the world, with a fine sense of politics past and present. Bill was employed by IT Temporary Staffing Services as a programmer/analyst for the state of Georgia.
Bill had many useful skills and was happy to share his knowledge with friends, neighbors, and relatives.
