With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Bill Brown, who departed from this world on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the age of 81, just shy of his 82nd birthday. Born on May 14, 1942, in Opelika, Alabama, to Claud and Miriam Brown, Bill's life journey was one of purpose and passion.
A graduate of Auburn University, Bill was dedicated to both his education and his community. His commitment to academia led him to contribute to the development of the Visual Communications Department at Auburn University.
Bill's professional journey took him to the University of Alabama and later to Atlanta. From his role as Director of Public Relations for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra to his tenure as Manager of Executive Guest Services for Coca-Cola, Bill's impact was felt far and wide.
In 1992, Bill embarked on a new adventure, founding Platinum Seminars, a company catering to the luxury cruise industry. His entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering dedication earned him respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bill's true passions lay in travel and art. He found joy in flower gardening, and the companionship of his beloved pets.
Bill leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. He is survived by friend Francisco Martinez, and family; a brother Claud Brown Jr., a nephew Claud (Trey) Brown, a niece Miriam (Mimi) [Neal] McGee, and grandnieces Hayden McGee Russell [Bryce], MacRae Brown, Anna McGee, and Bailey Brown, as well as a great-grandniece, Lillian Russell, and a great-grandnephew, Walker Russell.
In honor of Bill's memory, the family plans to hold a remembrance of life ceremony at a later date, where they will celebrate his life and the impact he had on those around him.
In lieu of flowers, a tribute donation may be made to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
May he rest in peace, forever cherished in our hearts.
