Richard Raebel Obituary


Richard Fredrick Raebel, age 93, of Dunwoody, GA passed away on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022.  Mr Raebel was born on Sept. 4, 1929 in New York City, New York. He was raised in Canton, Ohio. Graduated from Lehman, High School where he played football and ran track. He attended Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio majoring in business management, and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He served in the Army at the 101st Airborne Division, Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky, and Ft Knox during the Korean War.

Richard worked for Republic Steel Corporation for 32 yrs. as a regional sales manager. He was an active member of Dunwoody Baptist Church for 34 yrs where he served on the missions council and as the director of the Benevolence program. He also served as an adult Sunday school class leader. 

He enjoyed sports, bridge, bowling, and playing golf. He was a collector of trains, coins and stamps. His biggest joy was spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his giving, compassionate nature, and witty sense of humor (which he still possessed at 93 yrs of age). His life communicated love, support, and encouragement for others.
He has given us the lasting gifts of a beautiful life and blessed our memories forever.
 
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 yrs. Beverly S. Raebel, daughter Diane (Tom) Frank of Keller TX; Tracie (Derek) Sweat of Canton, GA; Grandchildren  Courtney (Ivan) Rimach, great-grandchildren Graham & Emery of Aubrey, TX, Shelby (Vince) Frawley, great-granddaughter Sutton of Springtown, TX, granddaughter Ashley Frank of Denver, CO, grandson Jason Frank of Bryan, TX. granddaughter Lauren Sweat of St George, Utah and Mackenzie Sweat of Canton, GA
