Raymond William “Ray” Wilcauskas
Raymond William Wilcauskas, lovingly known as Ray and “Pop-Pop,” passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, in Marietta, Georgia, at the age of 85.
Ray was born on November 25, 1939, in Braddock, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geri Wilcauskas; his son, Raymond F. Wilcauskas; his grandson, Ryan Wilcauskas; his father, William Wilcauskas; his mother, Mildred Wilcauskas; his brother, Eugene Wilcauskas; and his baby brother, Ronald Wilcauskas.
Ray was a veteran of the United States Army and devoted over 40 years of his civilian career to serving at Fort Gordon. His dedication, work ethic, and loyalty were hallmarks of both his military and professional life.
Ray’s life was devoted to cherishing and loving his late wife, Geri. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and devotion—a bond that remained the center of his heart throughout his years. He also loved cruising with his sister-in-law and her husband, treasured trips to the beach with his grandchildren and their families, and enjoyed traveling to Pennsylvania to visit relatives.
He was a proud father to both of his sons, Ron Wilcauskas (Meggan) and the late Raymond F. Wilcauskas (Christy). He was a grandfather to Ryan Wilcauskas, Brandon Wilcauskas, Emma Wilcauskas, and Betsy Wilcauskas Boerman.. Known affectionately as “Pop-Pop,” Ray’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his late wife and grandchildren.
A man of faith, Ray was a devoted Roman Catholic who believed in Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was known for his quiet goodness and integrity, living gently towards others, and he leaves behind a legacy of devotion, kindness, and warmth that will live on in all who knew him.
An intimate family service will be held later this year to honor Ray’s life.
