December 17, 1969 ~ January 4, 2024 (age 54) 54 Years Old
"Ray Harrison Starbird passed away suddenly on January 4th, 2024. He recently celebrated his 54th birthday and was the youngest of five children.
Ray loved being around people and people loved being around Ray. He had a disarming inquisitiveness that was very successful in coaxing personal details out of folks, even those he had just met, and a great mind for remembering those details. Combined with a sharp-but-friendly sense of humor, he made new friends easily, and kept them forever.
A lifelong lover of all things motorized, Ray loved taking his car to Road Atlanta some weekends to drive laps and share his passion for the sport. He was also an enthusiastic early adopter of technology, especially when he could use it to capture special moments with friends and family. A fleet of drones, gimbal mounts, cameras, photo scanners, and associated equipment, ensured that his favorite memories were preserved to enjoy over and over again.
But Ray reserved his deepest devotion for his family. He knew his wife Elizabeth was the one as soon as he met her, and called his sister to tell her so. The couple went on to get married and have two children, daughter Zoya and son Harrison, who quickly became the center of their world. A dedicated father, Ray spent as much time with them as possible doing everything from school pick-up to lacrosse coaching. He loved his children deeply and was very proud of them.
Ray left the world too soon — he is survived by his wife and children, his mother Marlies, his siblings Melodee, William, Bart, and Susan, his mother-in-law Zarri, father-in-law Ali, sister-in-law Shaya, brother-in-law Michael and hundreds more friends and family whose lives were touched by him. His life celebration will be held at Glover Park Brewery on 2/10/24, 12:00 - 4:00 pm."
