Nancy Pamela Akinyi Midimmo passed away in Gwinnett County on May 14, 2022. Nancy was born in Nairobi, Kenya on February 13, 1965 to Jack Jones Midimmo and Margaret Midimmo. She went to Burhaniya Girls and later joined Aga Khan High School. After graduating high school, she went to Shanzu Teachers College where she got her teaching certificate.
Nancy started her teaching career in 1987 as a general education teacher. She later pursued an associate's degree in special education and switched to special education, inspired by her late son Bryson who had multiple disabilities. She went on to get a bachelor's and master's degree and was just a few months away from completing her Ph.D. thesis in special education.
Nancy was a devoted mother to her four sons: Ray, Bryson, Allan, and Jacob. After the death of her first husband Christopher Mulli, she single-handedly raised four sons, a testament to her determination. Nancy was a God-fearing lady full of love and kindness for her family, friends, and all who knew her. Every week, she would prepare and share weekly biblical lessons and scriptures via Whatsapp.
Nancy believed that success was only possible through hard work, determination, and discipline. She conquered her fears, including driving, getting on an airplane, and riding a helicopter. Nancy enjoyed cooking and would share home-cooked meals with her friends and colleagues at work. Her other interests included listening to gospel music, watching Nigerian movies, and knitting.
She is predeceased by her father Jack Jones Midimmo, her son Bryson Mulli, her husband Timothy Cullins, her sister Hellen Schröder, and her grandparents Andrew Opondo, Dorcas Akinyi, Charles Kamau, and Rahab Njeri. She is survived by her mother Margaret Midimmo; her children Ray (Zuhura) Anduvate, Allan (Ruth) Muli, and Jacob (Lanajarae) Mulli; her siblings Samuel (Nelly) Midimmo, Betty (Richard) Awuor Midimo, Andrew (Florence) Midimmo, Winnie (Jonathan) Midimmo, Moses (Diana Jelagat) Midimmo, and Joshua (Alice) Midimmo; her grandchildren Nassim Akinyi, Sarah Ngina, Isabella Mulli, Allan Damian Muli, Jonathan Jackson, Nayman Wachira, Hannah Betty, Sammy, among others; her nieces/nephews Maureen Jackson, Mathew Wachira, Jacob Wachira, James (Jimmy) Wachira, Moses Wachira, Isaac Midimmo, Silvester Midimmo, Tracy Schröder, Catherine Midimmo, Jamila Wanjala Midimmo, Nuru Waithera Midimmo, Mariam Midimmo, Jepkurui Midimmo, Margaret Waithera Midimmo, Jacky Midimmo, Hellen Blessing Midimmo, Jack Jones Midimmo, Valary Waithera Midimmo, and Blessing Anyango Midimmo; her aunts Mary Wambui Gikera, Margaret Auma, and Gladys Awino; among others.
