Mignonne Genette Eliason was born in Texas on June 24, 1936, to Florence and R.C. Oliver. She passed peacefully on October 24, 2021, at home with her family.
Mignonne lived a long full life. During her childhood and married life, she called a number of places home including Texas, Florida, California, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. In later life, a love of travel led her and close friends to explore Europe, England, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Alaska. A keen animal lover, from childhood to the end of her life Mignonne was a pet-person and a supporter of many animal rescue groups. Mignonne was also an avid supporter of the Atlanta Symphony and served as a volunteer usher for many seasons. Her love of history was expressed in a keen interest in historic homes and gardens throughout her travels and a love of reading.
She is preceded in death by her parents Florence and R.C. Oliver, sister Yvonne Jamieson and brother Terry Kent Oliver. She is survived by son David Eliason, daughter Jennifer (John) Eliason Hines, son Joel (Andy Plummer) Eliason, grandson Joseph Hines, granddaughter Taylor Hines and cousin Olive (Les) Neumann.
Burial will be at 3:00 pm., Friday November 5 at Sunset Memorial Park, San Antonio, Texas. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date in Atlanta, Georgia.
