Matthew Wayne Hardy

September 16, 1983 – August 17, 2026

Matthew Hardy, beloved husband, father, Papa, brother, son, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2026, at the age of 42.

Matt was, above all else, a family man. He loved his children more than anything and treasured the time he spent making memories with the people he loved. He was a proud Papa, and his grandchildren held a very special place in his heart. His best fishing buddy, Carter, shared many of those special moments with him.

Matt loved to fish, and there was rarely a better place for him to be than outdoors with a fishing pole in his hand. He loved 80s rock and was one hell of a drummer. He loved watching movies with his grandbabies, making memories with his children, and simply being with the people who mattered most.

He also brought the laughs wherever he went. Matt was always the loudest, funniest guy in the room, the one who could turn an ordinary moment into a story everyone would remember. His personality was larger than life, and his laughter will be deeply missed.

But perhaps his greatest love story was the one he shared with his wife. Brandy was not only his wife, but his best friend. They shared 15 years of countless memories, hard seasons, laughter, and a love that was deeply rooted in friendship. He loved her fiercely.

Matt’s life was not always easy. He overcame a great deal, and his journey shaped the man he became. When he walked through the doors of New Season Church, he found something that changed his life. He found Jesus. He found faith. And he found family.

Matt was looking forward to sharing his testimony, his story of what he had overcome and how finding Jesus had changed him.

He didn’t get the chance to share that testimony the way he had hoped.

So those who loved him will carry it for him.

Matt is survived by his wife, Brandy; his children, Ashton, Aaron, Jayda, and Jaslynn; his stepchildren, Cheyenne, Austin, and Cameron; and his grandchildren, Carter and Sienna.

He is also survived by his brother, Justin Hardy (Jessica); his sister, Tosha Goins;  bonus siblings Courtney Carroll & Caitlin Barnes; his mother, Darlene Johnes (Daniel); Penny Condon (Christopher)and nieces; Hannah, Hailey & Christina,  nephews; Chase, Nash, Knox & Grayson.

A memorial Service will be held at New Season Church  Address: 4457 Atlanta Hwy, Hiram, GA 30141 on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 2pm
