Mary Elizabeth Cato

Mary Elizabeth Cato, age 77, passed away peacefully in Bremen, Georgia on January 10, 2025 with her loving husband of 57 years, Robert “Buster” Cato by her side. 

Mary was the picture of a Proverbs 31 woman. Mary loved the Lord with all of her heart. Her main attribute was loving people with the love of Christ. Mary was a wise woman and loved sharing her knowledge with her family. She loved many activities including painting, skiing, swimming, pottery, and so much more. She was an active Tres Dias leader.  There is not enough ink to mention all that Mary was interested in or the people who loved her. Mary was very compassionate and caring. She was the best wife, mom, and grandmother for her family. She cared deeply for her children and was very involved in all of their interests. Mary will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her but most of all by her family.

Survivors include her husband, Robert “Buster” Cato, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and David Blair, Dallas, GA: daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Eddie Bowling, Acworth, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Cato and Penny, Bremen, GA; brother, Lanier Garrett; brother in law, Bruce and Judy Cato; sister in law, Vicki and David Schneider, Terri and Steve Meyer; fifteen grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and extended family. 

The family will receive guests Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Fischer Funeral Care.  A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm with Reverend Terry Garrett officiating.  Interment will follow at North Atlanta Memorial Park.
