Marisue (Skinner) Bevacqua passed away peacefully on May 6, 2022, in Atlanta, GA after dealing with Alzheimer’s for almost 10 years.
Born August 9, 1938, in Toledo, OH to parents, Wesley and Alice Skinner, she attended DeVilbiss High School, Miami University in Oxford, OH and The University of Toledo.
Marisue married Bill Bevacqua on June 21, 1958, in a chapel at Fort Carson, Colorado, where Bill was an officer in the U.S. Army. Later that year the Army sent them to Munich, Germany for three years and then to Fort Sill, OK where they eventually left the Army and returned to Toledo in 1962. After spending most of the next 20 years in Toledo, they moved to Atlanta in 1982, to start a new business.
Marisue loved being a mother, a grandmother, and a great grandmother. In addition, she enjoyed her volunteer work at Northside Hospital's pediatric unit caring for newborns. She worked at Chamblee Methodist Preschool for a few years. She loved those kids!
She is survived by Bill, her husband of almost 64 years; brother, Wesley Skinner; children: Fr. Jim Bevacqua, Dave Bevacqua (Laura Ribas), Linda Haigh (Eric), Susan Hall (Tom), Tom Bevacqua (Gina Ostarly); grandchildren: Megan Sivewright (Charlie), Sarah Haigh (Logan Hufford), Ryan Hall, Ethan Haigh, Aidan Bevacqua, Sean Bevacqua, Brendan Hall, and Emma Bevacqua, and great-granddaughters: Ryleigh and Kenzie Sivewright. (Whew!)
Marisue will be deeply missed by her husband, family, and the many lives she has touched.
