Yvon Joseph Brochu passed away peacefully in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the age of 92. He was one of 10 and the last living child of Laura Roy Brochu and Donat Brochu. Born in St. Henri, Quebec, Yvon joined the Canadian army at the age of 18 and served his country in the Korean War. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Denyse Brochu, and adopted two children, Martin Brochu (68) and Manon Brochu (69). In 1975, he moved the family to Florida and spent many years building a successful motel business before retiring in his 50’s to travel North America in one of his many RV’s. After the passing of his wife in 2018, he spent the last six years of his life living with his daughter and son-in-law, Christopher Hauck, in Atlanta.
If you met him, you immediately felt his infectious charm & happiness, more than anything he loved making people smile, laugh, and just feel good about themselves. He loved traveling in his RVs, playing cards, playing and watching golf, listening to Andrea Bocelli, or imparting his insights with others by saying “did you know…..?”
