John Kozlovic Obituary

John Matthew Kozlovic, Jr., 77, of Atlanta, GA passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on May 19, 2026 after a difficult short battle with Cancer. John’s strong devotion to God, service to Holy Cross Catholic Church and his interaction with the community will leave a mark on all who knew him.

John was born on February 25, 1949 to John and Dottie Kozlovic in New Orleans, Louisiana. After the family relocated to Greensburg, PA, John graduated from Greensburg Central HighSchool in 1967, and went on to study business at the University of Dayton.

After graduation, John was hired by Terminal Freight and relocated to Atlanta where he met his new neighbor, Carol, and they fell in love almost instantly. They were married on April 29, 1984, and, on that day, John became a step-father to 3 grown children.

John was a force of Nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. As a natural born entrepreneur John purchased a Subway franchise that grew to 5 stores over the years. He was often recognized as the “Subway Guy” no matter where he went. His family (& Pizza) meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned.

Anyone who knew John knew that he was the most loving spouse, father and grandfather a family could ask for. John was predeceased by his mother, Dottie, his father, John and his sister Stephanie. He is survived by wife, Carol, children, Bobby (Anna Maria), Jeanne, and Pam (Tim). His grandchildren were his pride and joy: Ori (Aster), Daniel (Sarah), Andrew, and Tyler. His surviving siblings, Peggy (Charlie), Karen, and their families.

A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 17 at 11 o’clock AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church located at 3773 Chamblee Tucker Rd, Atlanta, GA, with Father Benedict officiating.  A light luncheon will be served in the parish hall following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to St. Vincent de Paul at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
