James Michael Hennessey (Jimmy) was the youngest sibling from a proud Bostonian Irish family of 9 children. He was a true renaissance man. As his siblings recall, from birth he was deeply curious about the world around him, reading the paper on his father’s knee at only three years old. Not surprisingly, he was also interested in music of all kinds from an early age. He was a gifted musician who graduated from Berklee College of Music in his beloved hometown of Boston.
Jimmy's passion was not limited to music. He was also an aficionado of spicy food, fine wine, cold beer, and international travel, visiting over 25 countries on 5 continents. Of all his travels, he would most fondly recall the time he spent in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1997. While performing saxophone with a band at the Philippine Embassy, he met the love of his life: Mary Aleth Dizon.
Jimmy and Aleth built a beautiful life together. They settled in Atlanta, and Jimmy began a career with Bell South/AT&T, where he worked for over 24 years. In his spare time, he and Aleth continued to travel, play amazing music, and treasure-hunt for unique antiquities and collectibles from all around the world. Jimmy’s larger than life personality and impressive musical talent will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but his love and adoration for his wife Aleth will his be greatest legacy.
