On Sunday, September 19, 2021, James Forrest Stringer, Jr., of Asheville, NC, and Dunwoody, GA, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 83, after an illness of several years.
Jimmy was born on June 1, 1938 in Atlanta, Georgia, to Jimmie and Jeannette (Cronk) Stringer. He attended Georgia Institute of Technology and owned an insurance business in the Atlanta area. He served in the US Army for 6 years.
Jimmy had a passion for golf, travel, running and family. He loved getting together with friends and family, and pursued all his interests and service with gusto.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Sandi; his two children, Kim Klein and Keith (June Lee) Stringer; his former wife of many years, Jane Sparks; his sister, Sharon (Ken) Vinson; two stepsons, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of life will be held November 20th. Donations in Jimmy’s memory may be sent to MD Anderson Cancer Research Center or Wounded Warriors.
