Irma May Duda

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our mother, Irma Duda. She went to her Lord peacefully surrounded by her loving family – son, Doug; daughter, Amy, daughter, Karla and son-in-law Wayne.

Irma was a woman of steadfast faith throughout her entire life, always active in the church, most recently for over 30 years at Christ the King Lutheran in Pinecrest, Florida. She volunteered in many ways, was particularly involved in altar guild, and was passionately devoted to the church choir. She always enjoyed praising God through song and always had a song at the tip of her tongue, at all times and in all places.

Smart, loving, independent, and headstrong, Irma lived her life guided by her faith and her politics. She voted this past November and, notwithstanding her failing health, was proud to have completed her mail-in ballot on her own!

Irma’s survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Doug Duda and Laura Teller, Lawrenceville, NJ; daughter, Karla and son-in-law, Wayne Mergenthal, Tucker GA; Amy Duda, Albuquerque, NM; five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and extended family. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
