Gresham Brown McCullough Jr. 88, of Atlanta, Ga, passed away on March 29,2023 after a short battle with a brain tumor.
Gresham (Red) was born on September 24, 1934 to Gresham McCullough, Sr. and Margaret Arnold McCullough in Leesburg Fl. He attended the (little) Lovett School on West Wesley Rd. After graduating from Waycross High School in Waycross, GA where he was very active in sports, he continued his education at the Citadel for 2 years and then transferred to the University of Georgia. He graduated in 1960 after serving 2 years in the United States Army as a specialist in the 82nd Air Borne Division. He also attended John Marshall Law School because he had an interest in research law.
He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity at UGA and it was there where he met the love of his life, Anne Lockhart who soon became his wife. They had two children they loved and adored.
Mr. McCullough began his sales career with Johnson & Johnson as the VP of sales in the southeast region of the USA and moved on later to have a 15-year career at 3M pharmaceuticals as a sales representative for the south.
Gresham McCullough is preceded in death by daughter, Anne Marie McCullough. He is survived by his wife, Anne L McCullough and son, Gresham B McCullough III; sister, Peggy McCullough Cooper and brother- in-law, Joseph Cooper; niece, Margaret Cooper Plott, and nephews: Joseph Cooper, Sam Cooper, and John Cooper.
Gresham (Red) was active and passionate in many bible study fellowships; Wednesday Warriors men’s bible study was his mid-week love (meeting at the Church of the Apostles) he was part of a Friday morning prayer group and a Tuesday bi-weekly bible study. He was an avid member of the Church of the Apostles and for many years volunteered at Leading the Way. Those who knew Gresham would know that he always put Jesus first, as that was his rock and his salvation. This led him to be a profound figure in everyone who was in his life, especially as a husband, a father, and a brother.
There will be a funeral service at the Church of the Apostles on April 11th 2023 at 11:00 am followed by a reception in the commons of the church.
