Gary Steven Balbuzowski, Jr.

Gary Balbuzowski was born on October 31, 1974, in Buffalo, New York, and left this world on his 51st birthday, October 31, 2025. He lived a life as full, loving, and generous as the city that raised him.

He was a proud graduate of Hutchinson Central Technical High School and PS #57. At 17, he left Buffalo to serve his country and joined the United States Marine Corps. He completed basic training at Camp Lejeune before being deployed to Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, where he served with honor and distinction.

After his military service, Gary built a new life in Atlanta, Georgia, where he launched a career in cybersecurity, protecting people and systems with the same dedication he brought to his years in uniform. There, he met and married Rita Villarreal, and together they produced the wonderful and magical daughter Grace in 2016.

For the past two decades, Gary made his home in Sandy Springs. He loved McKendrick’s Steak House, Sunday afternoons watching the Buffalo Bills, and any chance to gather with family and friends. Gary lived life to the fullest, always in pursuit of “the best”: the best meal, the best experience, and the best for everyone around him. His enthusiasm for life and care for others made him unforgettable.

Gary is survived by his wife, Rita; his daughter, Grace; his father, Gary Sr., his mother, Deborah; his uncle, Dale; his aunts, Camille and Sylvia; his uncle, Mike; his siblings, Bill, Jeanette, Brian, Michelle, Wendy, Nichole, Elizabeth, and Kevin, and an extended family who loved him deeply in life and will love him forever.
