Fariborz "Fred" Tahami
1959 - 2021
Fariborz "Fred" Tahami passed away on January 25, 2021 at the age of 61. He was born in Tehran, Iran to father Ahmad and mother Parivash. He was the oldest of three children. His two sisters, Fariba and Floria, reside in Switzerland. Fariborz moved to the U.S. at the age of 12 where he remained for his adult life and eventually gained citizenship in 1991.
He graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor's of Science. Afterward, he moved from Providence, Rhode Island to Augusta, Georgia where he met former wife, Diane. Together they raised two children, Katherine and Sarah, in Lawrenceville, Georgia. All of his attention went to his daughters: spending countless trips at DisneyWorld, filling their world with dresses, bows, stuffed animals and barbie dolls. His focus in life was ensuring that his daughters were provided with a good education and that they had all the tools for a successful future.
He enjoyed spending his vacation time at the beach, with his toes dug in the sand and a Bud Light Lime in his hand. Even after decades of being away from his home country, his favorite food still remained Persian cuisine. He enjoyed connecting with people over a good meal, debating about politics, sharing his excitement over a good deal that he found or sharing new experiences. The echoes of his boisterous laugh and larger-than-life outbursts will be remembered fondly.
Fariborz is survived by his two children, Katherine and Sarah, along with his two sisters, Fariba and Floria, and mother, Parivash. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, friend, and the world's greatest father.
