Diane McWilliams

Diane McWilliams of Atlanta, Georgia passed away on Sunday April 9, 2023, in her home surrounded by family. Diane was born on August 11, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri to Mildred Reed and James McWilliams, not long before the end of World War II. She spent most of her childhood in southern California and ultimately settled in Sonoma County, California wine country. Diane was an accomplished cook, gardener, and photographer. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was the life of the party, and loved entertaining. Diane held a Bachelor of Arts from California State University Fullerton in Speech Communication with a minor in Art and a Master of Arts from California State University Northridge in Communicative Disorders specializing in Audiology. She worked as an Audiologist for over 25 years and later taught courses related to Photography and Web Design at Santa Rosa Junior College. She relocated to Atlanta, Georgia with her husband in 2018 to be close to family. Diane is survived by her husband, Ralph Flak; brother, James McWilliams; daughters: Emily White and Audrey Pennington, and grandchildren: Arlo Sudandyo, Luella Sudandyo, Julia Pennington, and Eleanor Pennington.

A graveside funeral service will take place on Thursday April 13, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Westview Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held this summer.
