David Dukes was born on November 3, 1951, in Cleveland Ohio. He was the fourth child of six, born to Roosevelt and Virginia Dukes. He departed this life February 14, 2025.
During his childhood he was very athletic and loved competing in track, football, baseball and basketball. As an adult he favored horse racing too.
He attended Outhwaite Elementary, Kennard Jr. High and graduated from John Adams High School. David also attended Kent State University.
David excelled in computer operations as well as office machines of all types. He received many commendations from the companies he worked for including Kraft Foods and AT&T. He was employed by AT&T for 20 years and retired in 2000.
David never married but fathered a child, Andre, with his high school sweetheart, Joyce Rogers.
David was a kind, loving, generous, very helpful brother and friend. Our close relationship over the years yielded many good times and laughter together. You knew it was football season because David would text siblings, nieces and nephews with his favorite team picks. It was his way of keeping in touch and spreading love to all of us.
David leaves to mourn his passing his son Andre Rogers, his siblings: Gloria Jean Morgan, Rogina Dukes Dodson, Robert Lee Dukes, Karen Eileen Eaglin, Ronnette Dukes, (brother Kenneth preceded him in death). Four grandchildren, Two great grandchildren several nephews and nieces along with a host of friends, co-workers, and cousins.
