Corey Chad Lyles-McCann

Corey ChadLyles-McCann entered this life on December 13th, 1985.
the love child of Shelli Lyles and Eric McCann. Corey was an only child,
but you would never have known that by his relationship with Leondre
Haynes, whom, as children, both developed a lifelong unconditional
brotherly love for one another. Corey's early education took place in the
Indianapolis, Indiana School System. A happy student as he jostled his
school work with his extracurricular activities, such as wrestling and karate
and learning about different musical instruments on his weekly trips to
choir practice with Granny McCann. Corey developed many
triendships over his formative years,sharing many weekends with
cousins and friends from Ohio and Indiana. Wednesday night bible
study at New Era Church inI Indianapolis helped to pave his acceptance
of Jesus Christ, that was evident by his baptism at Universal Christian
Church in Indianapolis early in his life. Corey moved to the Atlanta
area in his middle school years, attending Clayton County Public
Schools, graduating from Morrow High School in Morrow, GA. He went
on to attend Albany State University in Albany, GA. As Corey grew
into manhood, he joined the United States Army, going on to complete
two tours in Afghanistan, where he became a tank mechanic and crafted
his knowledge of large and small engine repairs. Coreys friends all
testify about his friendship, whether it be car maintenance, repairs or
just being supportive of anyone that needed him. Every one of Coreys
Friends repaid him with the love and loyalty he shared with them. Corey
leaves the grief tax—the price we pay for love, to his parents; Shelli Lyles,
Eric McCann (Renita), Daughter, Camaya Lyles, Grandfather, Kenneth
Lyles, God-MotherMarva Hunt, Brother, Leondre Haynes, His
Soulmate, Vertrice Collins, her children, Mariah Staton, Quinton Staton
and Kamari Pugh. His phenomenal friend Blaze Russell, whofilled every
friendship slot possible. Qiana Gilbert and Nakeeya Bums-Tutson who
stood in as excellent hospital chauffeurs. His friend Legrane Powell, A
nurse whodropped everything and came immediately from Alabama to
spend the time with him when he requested, Shellie's lifelong friends
Dorree Martinez and Karen Mason, High School friends of Corey, Ethel
McFarland and Kyna Thomas, who are ShellisGoddaughters, and who
will continue to support her. Coreys, Indiana families: TheBradys,
Eldridges, Lindsays, McKissicks, Pattons and a host of friends and family
located in many places.

Corey Chad Lyles-McCann passed away on October 16, 2023.

at the young age of 37.
