Obituary

Dunwoody resident Connor Edward Vieira, 23, passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2022.

Connor was born December 26, 1998, the third and youngest child of Ken and Nancy Vieira. He graduated from Dunwoody High School in 2017 and was attending Kennesaw State University at the time of his death.

Connor was fun-loving, a comedian, and a smart ass. Friends and family recall that Connor, in one sentence, could make someone furious and fall over laughing at the same time. Whatever he loved, he embraced it wholly, whether it was collectible swag, sneakers, playing basketball, or X-box. He never met a chicken nugget, pan of macaroni and cheese, or Cuban sandwich that he didn’t love.

As a child, Connor had no fear of failing and wanted to try everything. He played every youth sport available, including basketball, soccer, football, swimming, and baseball. He loved to play with his older brother, Zach, on the family basketball court, make brownies with his big sister, Mallory, hug on his mom and play games with his dad. He was also a little brother to many of Zachary and Mallory’s friends. He had a kind heart.

Sadly, he battled substance abuse for several years, which led to his untimely and tragic end. He was on the road to recovery and not ready to leave us. His family mourns the lost potential that they saw in Connor that he didn’t see in himself, and there will be a huge hole in their hearts forever.

Connor was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecilia and Edward Junay. He is survived by his parents, Nancy Junay and Ken Vieira; his sister, Mallory Wickersham (Marshall); and his brother, Zachary. He is also survived by his grandparents, Sarah and Tom Vieira; aunts and uncles, Lisa and Ray Vieira, Margaret and TJ Vieira, Tommy and Dawn Junay, Diane and Andy Rice, and Michelle and Stephen Junay; cousins, Tommy Junay, Joey Junay, Jessica Junay, Kevin Junay, Christina Vieira, Brittney Vieira, Kelly Vieira, Marianne Spurrier, Maggie Stewart, Tommy Vieira, and Katie Westerfield.

A mass to celebrate Connor’s life will be held at All-Saints Church, 2443 Mt. Vernon Rd., Dunwoody, Ga, will be held April 19, 2022, at 11 a.m. A repast will be held after the service at Bar(n), 5521 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd.
