Cherral Lee DeCarava, the daughter of the late Charles and Queenie May Jones, was born on February 21, 1949, in New York City. She peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, April 8. 2026, at the age of 77, in her home, surrounded by her devoted son and caregiver, Vincent. Cherral was a dedicated and faithful employee of Con Edison, where she served with excellence for over 30 years. Her strong work ethic, professionalism, and commitment left a lasting impression on all who worked alongside her. She was known for her stylish and fashionable spirit, always presenting herself with grace, confidence, and elegance. Cherral also loved to travel, embracing new places, new people, and the joy of experiencing the world. Beyond her career and personal passions, Cherral was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a mother not only to her own children but also to many others who were drawn to her warmth, wisdom, and nurturing heart. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to countless lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Queenie May Jones, and her son, Terrance Parks. She leaves to cherish her memories; her son, Vincent DeCarava of Atlanta, Georgia; her precious granddaughter, Taylor DeCarava of Fort Wayne, Indiana; extended family members; and friends. May the life that she lived be a testimony to all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of love, strength, beauty, and compassion will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
