Carolyn (Fowler) Craig

(Nancy) Carolyn Fowler Craig passed peacefully in her sleep on September 6, 2023.  She had recently turned 83. 

Originally born in Gaffney, SC, Carolyn grew up around Boiling Springs, NC, where she attended high school.  She has lived mostly in the Atlanta area, however, for the past 65 years.  Carolyn was known for her love and support of family, to whom she gave her time, money, and wisdom.  She also loved working with flowers and plants, and sharing her love of the beach and the ocean with her children.  Sensitive and caring, she was also strong and resilient.  After having lost many loved ones in recent years, she herself had to face personal health issues and persevered for years before joining those loved ones in a better place.

Survivors include her son: Christopher Craig of Atlanta, GA; her sister, Elizabeth Elmore of Shelby, NC; her grandson, Jim White of Little River, NC; her granddaughter, Mandy Craig of Jefferson, GA; and numerous nephews and nieces.  She is preceded in death by her parents: Wesley and Ruby Fowler; siblings: Bettie Fowler, Nellie Wade, Dorothy Burns, Doris Whisnant, Charles Fowler, Linda Robbins, and Kenneth Fowler.  Gene Craig, her husband of 53 years, passed in 2012.  Her son, Bill Craig, passed in 2016 and her daughter, Juanita White followed in 2022. Angie Craig and Nikki Craig, her granddaughters, also predecease her.

A private funeral will be held on Monday, September 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5755 Mallory Road, College Park, GA, 30349.
