Camille Walton Davis

Camille Walton Davis was born Janice Camille Walton in Bryan, TX. She enjoyed singing with her trio group who also sang for Texas A&M functions. Her mother housed young ladies for Corp of Cadet dances at Texas A&M that she enjoyed attending. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin H.S. in Bryan, 1952 and from North Texas State in Denton, TX with a degree in Journalism. She attributes her love of college and early friends to her sorority, Chi Omega, Alpha Alpha chapter. Her participation in Chi Omega extended throughout the rest of her life. She was working in marketing for Humble Oil Co. when she met her husband, Tom Davis. They were married in 1958 and lived in Houston. They eventually moved to Miami, FL where she worked as a church secretary with St. Thomas Episcopal Church & School, taught swimming, attended bible studies, and made life-long friends. She moved to Atlanta, GA in 1978, where she began a new chapter working for Sterling Enterprises and Duracell. There she navigated the computer world learning Microsoft Office products. Still, with a love of learning, she took classes in Feng Shui flower arranging, collected Barbara Woods prints, and beefed up her Bridge game. Her most memorable trip was to Israel with Christ Church. She spoke often of all she learned, the friends she made, and the profound experience of walking with her Lord, Jesus Christ. She most recently enjoyed writing and editing for the Lenbrook newsletter.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Walker Davis; her two daughters and sons-in-law: Leslie and Andrew Fowler Jr. and Camille and Kyle Stewart; grandchildren: Michelle May (husband Andrew May), Thomas Fowler, Hunter Stewart, and Grace Stewart; great-grandchild: Eleanor Fowler.
