Barry Wayne Thomas Sr.

Mr. Barry Wayne Thomas Sr., age 65, died May 12, 2021 at his residence in Douglasville after a sudden illness.

Barry worked at Emory Hospital for over 20 years, and he was an avid Ham radio operator.  He loved his family, friends and co-workers; but most of all he loved the Lord. He attended Victory Baptist Church of Douglasville.  He was a hard worker, a caring person and in his own way he was a unique person. Everyone will greatly miss him as those who knew him were blessed to have him in their life. 

Barry is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Inez Thomas and Grady Ryman Thomas; his beloved wife, Louise Thomas and his infant brother Grady Ryman Thomas Jr. 

He is survived by his son, Barry Wayne Thomas Jr.; three grandsons, Joshua Thomas, Barry Wayne Thomas III and Bradley Johnson; two brothers, Jerry Thomas (Geraldine) of Newburn GA and Bobby Robinson (Theresa) of Covington; and two sisters, Barbara Anderson (John) of Forrest Park; and Rita Faye Trawick (Ralph) of Eight Mile AL.  Many nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. 

Graveside Funeral services for Mr. Barry Wayne Thomas Sr. will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM at College Park Cemetery (3600 North Adams, College Park GA 30337) at 2:00 PM with Pastor James Cook Officiating.  The family will receive friends at the cemetery just prior to the service.
