Andre Boykin was born July 12, 1957, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Mr. Earl Boykin and Ms. Lela Mae Knox.
He confessed Christ as Lord as his Lord and Savior at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 7, and was baptized by the late Reverend Samuel Owen.
Andre was very active in youth ministries at Metropolitan Baptist Church and served in various capacities in youth day activities and youth choir. Much of his eloquent speaking talent and abilities were developed as a result of the consistent and persistent training and mentoring at Metropolitan.
Andre graduated from Christian Brothers High School in 1975, and graduated from Memphis State University in 1979 with a B.B.A. in finance.
After a successful career of more than 22 years at Ryder, he stepped out on faith and started his own company, focusing on executive leadership development and training and named it Capital Idea; later changing the name to ROI Solutions based out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Atlanta, Ga.
Andre was a dedicated and sincere philosopher and philanthropist, with a deep rooted belief in helping others, he served as vice president of the MarcJaiden foundation from 2014 – 2022 and received the humanitarian award in 2017. He served in this role faithfully, despite being diagnosed with cancer and battling several health challenges.
He leaves his memory to be cherished by his beloved wife and partner of more than 20 years, Shari, four children: Fletcher Boykin, Tyler Boykin, Troy Roth, Philip Roth; sister: Lydia Boykin; Five grandchildren: Malia Boykin, Tyler Boykin, Jr, Diana Boykin, Mia Roth, Cali Roth, and host of relatives and friends.
